Typical positions include Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, Ship Design Engineer, Shipyard/Production Engineer, Surveyor, Project Engineer, Marine Consultant, and maritime-sector technical or management roles. Opportunities are available in government organisations such as the Bangladesh Navy, BIWTC/BIWTA, Department of Shipping and port-related organisations, as well as private and international maritime companies. The department’s alumni and students are already working in organisations including Dockyard & Engineering Works Ltd., Bangladesh Navy, BIWTC, Wärtsilä Bangladesh, Karnafuly Shipbuilders, Bashundhara Steel & Engineering, and international organisations.
