Khabirul Haque Chowdhury

Short Biography

Professor Khabirul Haque Chowdhury, FRINA, CEng, is a naval architect, academic and maritime professional with more than four decades of experience. He served at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) from 1977 to 2018, including as Professor and Head of the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervised numerous theses and design projects, and conducted extensive research and consultancy in ship design, maritime safety, shipbuilding and maritime management. He has authored/published over 100 research-based papers, conference papers and reports, and has worked in more than 50 consultancy projects for government, private and internationally funded organizations. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (FRINA) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng), UK.
